Backwoods Hucksters
The Backwoods Hucksters are a local mountain blues dance ensemble. Longtime musical partners Cort Armstrong (guitar) and Sean Divine (harmonica) are joined by Joey Gish (fiddle), Matt Sircely (mandolin/fiddle) and Paul Stehr-Green (bass). If the Appalachian guitarists Rev. Gary Davis, Merle Travis and Riley Puckett had started a string band together, they might have sounded something like the Backwoods Hucksters.

It’s always good to bring Joe Michaels back to our stage from his travels up and down the west coast calling and teaching. With his enthusiastic, relaxed style, you just can’t help but have fun.
