Perpetual Emotion Returns to Port Angeles! Monday Aug. 25, 2014

These guys were a huge hit last year — don’t miss them this year! Especially note the unusual time: 6:30 to 9:30pm, and special price (suggested donation: $10 adult, $8 seniors/teens, $5 kids).

Perpetual Emotion caused quite a buzz when they played
in Port Angeles last year. They’ll have dancers smiling and
hopping when they play at Black Diamond this November!
Captivating, passionate, propulsive and progressive are what best define the music of this power duo, perched at the convergence of traditional and electronic dance music. Perpetual e-Motion integrates technical and sonic innovations with old school traditions to create a enormous sound full momentum and groove. Lauded as a two man orchestra, this duo continues to innovate the art of traditional dance music through their use of sound sculpting and multitasking, captivating listeners and dancers with their infectious and unique sound.
Will Mentor, caller: is a contra and square dance caller from Northern Vermont, known for his clear teaching, upbeat wit, and relaxed stage presence.

June 7, 2014 dance with Country Capers and Jean Gorrindo

Country Capers will put a bounce in your step and a smile on your face

From Bainbridge Island, Jane Landstra’s fiddling has a natural swing that makes dancing a joy! The Country Capers bring traditional dance music from the Shetland Islands and Scandinavia, all the way to American tunes and Cajun music.

Caller Jean Gorrindo comes to us from California

Jean’s strong teaching and musical skills, combined with her musical and rhythmic vocal quality, help her deliver dances that are flowing, challenging, and fun!  She has a particular knack for collecting dances with exceptional choreography designed to enhance the connectedness between us all.
Jean heard about the Black Diamond dance, and contacted US to ask for the opportunity to call here! (Usually we have to go seeking callers.) How flattering is that?

Check out our new web page with videos!

We have some introductory contra dance videos from excellent callers. If you have friends who are a little hesitant about trying our dance, show them these videos.
There is also some video of experienced dancers which is a lot of fun to watch.
